Dissemination and Feedback Session on the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Policy 2025–30 at Islamabad
The Engineering Development Board (EDB), in collaboration with the Ministry of Industries and Production, successfully organized a high-level Dissemination and Feedback Session on the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Policy 2025–30 in Islamabad. The event brought together senior government officials, provincial representatives, industry leaders, academia, development partners, and civil society to deliberate on the policy’s strategic vision. The NEV Policy aims to transform Pakistan’s transport ecosystem by enabling 30% of new vehicle sales to be electric by 2030, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, curbing oil imports, and stimulating green industrial growth through local manufacturing and innovation.
Key features of the policy were shared, including targeted buyer subsidies, phased tariff reforms, establishment of a NEV Fund and NEV Center, and investment in skill development through NEAP and NESP. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries, Secretary MoIP, and CEO EDB emphasized that the policy is rooted in international best practices and inclusive stakeholder consultations. Participants were encouraged to contribute actionable feedback to support effective implementation. The session reaffirmed the government’s commitment to cleaner mobility, industrial modernization, and provincial alignment for a greener and more competitive Pakistan.
