EDB CEO Highlights National Technology Roadmap at NED University’s IMEC 2025
Karachi, April 25, 2025 — CEO Engineering Development Board (EDB), Engr. Khuda Bukhsh, addressed the 14th International Mechanical Engineering Conference (IMEC 2025) at NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi. Speaking on the theme “Digital Transformation and Emerging Technologies in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering,” he outlined EDB’s Sectoral Roadmap for Technology Adoption (2025–2028).
The roadmap focuses on:

Baseline Technology Assessment (2025) in collaboration with NEECA, PCSIR, OGRA, and PSQCA;

Technology Upgrade Programs (2026) across 100+ firms;

Expansion and Scale-Up (2027) targeting 20% productivity gains;

Industry 4.0 Enablement (2028) through AI, IoT, and smart manufacturing tools.
The CEO emphasized EDB’s commitment to bridging the gap between traditional manufacturing and smart, globally competitive industries. He called on academia and industry to collaborate in creating impactful, innovation-driven solutions.
“Smart manufacturing is the bridge to a knowledge-based economy,” he stated, reaffirming EDB’s vision for a technologically empowered, export-oriented Pakistan.
