Awareness Webinar on
Power Sector Indigenization Plan (PSIP) hosted by EDB and LUMS
The Engineering Development Board (EDB), in collaboration with Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) as the project consultant, organized an online awareness webinar on the Power Sector Indigenization Plan (PSIP).
The webinar commenced with a warm welcome by EDB team. EDB team informed the participants that PSIP aims to localize the manufacturing of power equipment to reduce dependency on imports and enhance the country’s self-reliance in energy infrastructure.
The event was attended by more than 240 participants, including representatives from power generation, transmission, and distribution companies. It featured two main segments: management and technical sessions. In the management session, notable speakers shared valuable insights including Engr. K.B. Ali (CEO EDB), Dr. Fiaz Ahmad Chaudhry (Chairman NTDC), Mr. Jameel Akhtar (Member Power WAPDA), Mr. Jamal Nasir (Chairman PPMC), Mr. Moonis Alvi (CEO K-Electric), Mr. Rihan Akhtar (CEO CPPA-G), Mr. Amir Zia (Chairman LESCO and MEPCO).
The webinar underscores the collaborative efforts of EDB, LUMS, and industry stakeholders to strengthen Pakistan’s power sector, marking a significant milestone in the journey toward economic sustainability and technological advancement.
