Meeting between EDB and Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) on Battery Recycling and Rare Earth Metals Utilization
On October 24, 2025, a meeting was held at the Engineering Development Board (EDB) under the chairmanship of Engr. K.B. Ali, CEO EDB, with representatives from the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) to discuss collaboration in battery recycling and rare earth metals utilization. The Korean delegation included Mr. Yoseb Song, PhD, and Mr. Bum Sung Kim, PhD, while Dr. Aneeq from NUST also participated. The meeting was attended by senior EDB officers/officials, reflecting Pakistan’s commitment to promoting sustainable recycling and clean energy technologies.
The discussion focused on technical cooperation, knowledge exchange, and joint research opportunities between EDB and KITECH. Both sides expressed their intent to strengthen collaboration in battery recycling, rare earth material processing, and industrial–academic partnerships to build Pakistan’s capacity in advanced and environmentally responsible technologies.
