Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Visits EDB for Electric Scooter, quality and security Inspection
On August 12, 2025, Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, accompanied by Mr. Saif Anjum, Secretary, Ministry of Industries and Production (MoIP), and Additional Secretary Mr. Asif Saeed, visited the Engineering Development Board (EDB) to inspect the safety and quality standards of electric scooters designated for distribution to top-performing students from government colleges across Pakistan.
Engr. Khuda Bukhsh, CEO of EDB, along with senior officers and officials, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and provided a detailed briefing on the inspection procedures, quality assurance protocols, and the broader vision for advancing electric mobility in the country.
The visit underscored the Government’s commitment to ensuring that all EV scooters meet the highest safety, performance, and durability benchmarks prior to distribution. This initiative forms part of the national drive to promote sustainable mobility solutions while recognizing and supporting the achievements of talented students nationwide.
