E-Balloting Ceremony Marks Launch of the First Phase of the PAVE Scheme

The Engineering Development Board (EDB), under the Ministry of Industries and Production (MoIP), organized the first e-balloting ceremony of the Pakistan Accelerated Vehicle Electrification (PAVE) Scheme 2025–2030 on 1st October 2025. The event was attended by the Secretary MoIP, Joint Secretary MoIP, Additional Secretary MoIP, and CEO EDB, Representation of Senior officers from various Ministries/Division, such as M/o Energy (Power Division), M/o Climate Change, M/o Finance, NEECA, Officers from EDB, qualified OEMs, partner banks, national and international media and the technical team of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). Live coverage of the e-balloting was showcased during the ceremony to ensure transparency. In this first phase, more than 269,000 applications were received, out of which 40,000 applicants were selected for subsidized electric two-wheelers and 1,000 applicants for electric three-wheelers. The PAVE Scheme, aligned with the New Electric Vehicle Policy (2025-2030), aims to reduce fuel imports, cut carbon emissions, create green jobs, and ensure that 30% of all new vehicles in Pakistan are electric by 2030.
